Best Dressed of the Week: Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Couture
We’ve all seen gowns but Jennifer Lawrence enthralled everyone when she stepped out in an exquisite Dior couture piece at the world premier of Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1
As the cast of the Hunger Games trilogy continue with their lineup of premieres, we’re just sitting here gazing at the lineup of beautiful sartorial choices. Case in point: Katniss, also known as, Jennifer Lawrence.
The Oscar-winning actress stepped out in an exquisite Dior couture gown on Monday night at the The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part I premiere in Los Angeles. Sure, Lawrence has been a proud Dior fan so the designer choice comes as no surprise. However, what did surprise us was the silhouette of the dress. Essentially, J Law’s cream white gown is a modern interpretation of Rococo style and a toned down version of the poufy, exaggerated Mantua gowns worn by Marie Antoinette in the 1700s.
It’s always nice to see old historical fashion being reinvented to suit our lifestyles and kudos to actresses who are bold enough to wear something different than the usual figure-hugging dresses.
As for the rest of the look, Lawrence kept her wavy bob pinned up and accentuated the dress with gold accessories by way of strappy sandals and a box clutch. Makeup as well was kept refreshingly simply, allowing the entire focus of the night to stay on the beautiful gown and rightly so.
Now the real question, is there anything that Jennifer Lawrence doesn’t look great in?
