If you love British style then Richard Nicoll’s debut line for Jack Wills will have you pining for every bit of it.

Since the Australian-born, London-based designer, Richard Nicoll was appointed creative director of British brand, Jack Wills, everyone was eagerly waiting to see what quirks he’ll be injecting into the line.

And he did not disappoint one bit this season. Inspired by the music of British youth sub culture periods from the 1960s Youth Quake through to 90’s Brit Pop, the designer’s first Spring 2015 womenswear collection resulted in a vibrant burst of bubblegum colours and an irreverent mix of styles.

“I wanted to bring the colour and energy from both periods together and inject the Jack Wills hero products such as the gilet, the rugby tops, the cable crews and equestrian tailoring, with a sense of youthful fun and playfulness,” Nicoll said.

Under Nicoll’s discerning eye, it’s apparent that the range of styles are a lot more youthful, vibrant and cohesive with the Jack Wills Fabuloulsy British DNA, that comes with a polished touch. Nonetheless, a couple of more versatile and classic pieces were also added to the mix.

From the bubble gum pink mac, herringbone and velvet swing coats, an optical rugby dress (inspired by Twiggy) to the oh so practical and plastic rainwear, it’s hard to pick what we love from the collection. But judging by this, we’re certain that Richard Nicoll will have fans swarming to the stores in no time.

Jack Wills is located at Raffles City Shopping Centre, #01-19
